Is someone going to bring juice and donuts for everyone on this climb or is there a store on the top?

Is this one route you guys call "Elspeth's Hill" (Sec 1, Jhongshe Road)?

I was going to take care of the "energy" food. And, no, it's not Elspeth's Hill - I think Elspeth's turns off another road or two up Palace road from where we'll turn off.

I know you will escape the heat at this time of the day, but it is hard to convince new riders to get up that early in the middle of the week. Probably need to bring some Mister Donuts with Starbucks coffee to reward the slowest riders.

It's called Lewis's Knob. An easy litttle spin but has no coffee shops as enticements.

Peter - I'm the one currently keeping the blog up. we got plenty of rides for you - email me. if you're looking to rent a bike, don't think the shops can help you there. however, if you're willing to put down some sort of large deposit or your child, i few buddies have an extra road bike, nice ones. i might be able to swing it for you. we are, many of us, teachers/parents at the Taipei American School - so you wouldn't have to worry about your deposit - and we wouldn't have to worry about the bike running off. i can't promise since it wouldn't be my bike - but i'd investigate for you. and again, as far as rides go, i can hook you up with some excellent guys/gals and regular routes we go on - you wouldn't be bored.
